Sustainable chemical engineering

The research field goes from LOCAL PHENOMENA involved in bio- & chemical process to UNIT PROCESSES investigation and development, and to their ECODESIGN.

 

Our objectives are :

  • Understanding the (bio)physical behaviour of (bio)particles at (bio)interfaces, the reactions in multiphase fluids with complex composition, the interactions at interfaces.
  • Designing processes by combining experimental tools and Multiscale Modelling.
  • Modelling and coupling phenomena for innovative processes.
  • Ecodesign the processes by considering technical and environmental performances through Life Cycle Assessment and multi-objective optimization.

 

 

 

The outcomes of our researches are: 

- a better knowledge of limiting phenomena that determine the process performance

- proofs of concept for process feasibility for many fields of application in Biotechnologies, Water treatment etc.

- eco-designed technical solutions
