RESEARCH TOPICS

Pr Gerard Goma is an expert in chemistry, petrochemistry, industrial microbiology, enzymology, & in eco-technologies.


Gérard Goma has an extensive experience including being a professor and researcher at INSA Toulouse (France) since 1966, developing the Biofood Engineering Department at INSAT, heading the Biotechnologies and Bioprocesses Laboratory and developing technology transfer activities. In parallel, he has had several assignments for the French Government and in the industry, including responsability for the diversification at St Gobain in Biotechnology, and being a member of the Technological Advisory Board at Rhône Poulenc.
Gérard Goma authored over 180 scientific publications. He regularly takes part in international expertise missions as a UN expert in chemical and biological defense.
His current research focuses on innovation and technology transfer, a systemic holistic approach to microbiology and the synergies between the different applications of biotechnology.
From the socio-economic perspective, he is notably working on green-house gases, the carbon tax, food vs. fuel competition and biofuels.
